The world we live in is constantly evolving, the majority of South Africans seem to be blaise about what is occurring.
For example: ‘Tver Governor Dmitry Zelenin, who angered the Kremlin last fall for complaining online about finding a worm is his salad at a presidential reception, lost his post Thursday.’ (Moscow Times June 18, 2011) [admittedly this example it a case of 'the last straw on the camels back] or how about New York City Congressman Anthony Weine? Poses a picture of his chest on twitter and is forced to resign.
Of course what does this have to do with the Cape? Or South Africa?
We have a ‘president’ who was charged with over 700 counts of fraud and corruption. Has he been impeached? No. He continues to rule.
Will this rather sad state of affairs come to an end?
I supported the Cape Party for one reason: To end ANC-rule forever. I have spoken for years about the terrorist organisation that rules this land. Nine times out of ten ‘I’m only one person – what can I do about it?’ seems to be the answer (‘they’ spend a lot of time trying to make you believe that.)
If we are unable to set aside our previous differences in the Cape and join one movement how will we be able to leave something for our children? What legacy do YOU want to leave?
I would like to believe that with ‘direct democracy’ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct_democracy) the likes of Jacob Zuma would not be in politics. (Of course it appears that having a criminal record seems to be a prerequisite of the ruling party.) This is what the Cape of Good Hope needs. Politicians who listen to their voters.
The time for talking has come to an end.
The time for taking action is upon us.
We need to take the former Cape of Good Hope back to what it was prior to the Union. We are the majority here. We need independence from the ANC.
